Grimoire, Flower of Life
Create your own Grimoire!
A grimoire is the name given to a witch's diary in which her spells, rituals, magical recipes and other educational information are recorded.
The origin of the grimoire goes back to the ancient Middle East, designating a form of magic book. This definition of a grimoire was later adopted from Spain to Great Britain to the United States, and eventually to the entire world.
However, the term "grimoire" is a bit of a catch-all and overused. There are few truly concrete and consistent definitions that go beyond "book of magic." For some, it's more of a guidebook meant to be passed down to the next generation and apprentices as ateaching tool for learning magic. For others it is a kind of book of magical recipes and occult sciences, used to record spells and other knowledge for later use. Most of these definitions are far too limited in scope to express the reality of modern grimoires.
